Scheduling options in Cloud Backup

In creating a backup of your files/folders, you can also set the scheduling parameters through the Cloud Backup Console. These parameters depend on the backup destination of your backup plan.

If you want to know how to create a backup using Cloud Backup, click the link below:

Explore the different scheduling options in your Cloud Backup using the guides below.

Scheduling Backups to Cloud Storage

By default, the program sets the scheduling of your backups to perform on a daily basis, Monday to Friday at 11:00 PM. You can change the frequency and time scheduled by following the guide below:

  1. Access the Cloud Backup Console.
  2. Click Devices on the left menu bar to open the list of all computers/devices connected to the Cloud Backup.
  3. Select the computer/device you want to back up, then click Backup on the right menu bar to open a Add backup plan template.
  4. Click on the SCHEDULE link to open your scheduling options.
  5. Move the slider to change the backup frequency and specify the backup schedule.
  6. Monthly Choose Select days of month to set a specific date/s of the month or Select days of week to set the specific week of the month and day/s of the week to perform backup.
Weekly Select the day/s of the week to perform the backup.
Daily Choose between Run every day or Run Monday to Friday.
Hourly Select the day/s of the week to perform the backup.
Under Run every, select the frequency per day selected.
Under From and To, set the beginning and end time for the backup frequency per day.
  7. Under Start at, specify the time you would like the backup to begin. Skip this step for Hourly backup and click DONE.

Note: The first backup is run as a full backup, and is most time-consuming. All of your subsequent backups will then be incremental and will take significantly less time.

Congratulations! You have now scheduled your backups to Cloud Storage.

Scheduling Backups to Other Locations

When backing up to other locations, there are predefined backup schemes you can choose from or you may also create a custom scheme. A backup scheme includes the backup schedule and backup methods for your backup plan.

Follow the guide below to set up a backup scheme:

  5. Under Backup scheme, select one of the following:
  6. Always incremental (single-file) This option is only available for disk-level backups and is not available for the Secure Zone backup location.
Backups are performed on a daily basis by default, Monday to Friday.

    • You can move the slider to change the backup frequency, then specify the backup schedule.
    • You can change the time to run the backup.
The new single-file backup format will be used for your backups.
Always full Backups are performed on a daily basis by default, Monday to Friday.

    • You can move the slider to change the backup frequency, then specify the backup schedule.
    • You can change the time to run the backup.
All backups, including subsequent backups will be run as full backups.
Weekly full, Daily incremental Backups are performed on a daily basis by default, Monday to Friday.

    • You can change the days of the week and specify the time to run the backup.
A full backup is done once a week while all other backups will be incremental. The day on which the full backup is done depends on the settings on the Weekly backup option:

    • Click on the Gear icon to open a list of other Backup options for your backup plan.
    • Click on Weekly backup, set the day for your weekly full backup, then click DONE.
Custom You can specify different schedules for the following backups:

    • Full backup – contains all data chosen for backup.
    • Differential backup – stores any change or update to the data against the latest full backup.
This is not available when backing up SQL data, Exchange data, or System State.
    • Incremental backup – stores any change or update to the data against the latest backup.
  7. Click DONE once satisfied with the backup scheme.

Congratulations! You have now scheduled your backups to other locations.

Other Scheduling Options

With any backup plan destination, you can do the following:

Set a date range for when the schedule is effective. Select the Run the plan within a date range check box to enable.
Disable the scheduling option. Click on the Off switch to disable.
While disabled, the configured rules will not apply unless a manual backup is started.
Introduce a scheduled time delay. Each machine’s delay value is randomly selected with a range of zero to the maximum value you specify. You may use this option to avoid excessive network load when backing up to a network location for multiple machines.
By default, this option is enabled with a 30-minute maximum delay, which you can change any time:

  • Click on the Gear icon to open a list of other Backup options for your backup plan.
  • Click on Scheduling and select Distribute backup start times within a time window.
  • Specify the Maximum delay and click DONE.
The delay value is determined for each machine once the backup plan is applied. The same value will continue to apply on the machine until you edit the backup plan and update the Maximum delay value.

Congratulations! You have now learned about the additional schedule options in Cloud Backup.
