How To Set Up Email Forwarders: cPanel

Email forwarding is a service that enables you to automatically forward emails originally addressed to a particular recipient to another recipient.

This is useful when you have multiple email addresses and you want to be able to check and manage them all from one email account. Email forwarding is also convenient if you need to forward your email messages to another person.

Adding Email Forwarders

  1. Log in to your cPanel.
  2. Go to EMAIL section and click Forwarders.
  3. Click Add Forwarder.
  4. In the Address to Forward field, enter the email address (without the domain) that you want the forwarder to be configured.
  5. In the Domain field, select the domain name of the email address that you want to configure. This is only applicable if you have multiple domain names in your cPanel.
  6. On the Destination, select one of the following options:
    • Forward to Email Address. Select this if you want the email to forward to another email address. Make sure to specify the email address on the box provided.
    • Discard and send an error to the sender (at SMTP time). Select this option if you want to discard messages instead. You can specify an error message on the box provided. This is helpful if you want to stop receiving emails on a specific email address in your cPanel.
  7. Click the Add Forwarder button to save the new forwarder.
