How To Restore My Domain Name from Redemption

Generic Top-Level Domains (gTLDs) are top-level domains (TLDs) that are common or unexceptional yet sought-after by individuals or companies who use them. Some of the most common examples of gTLDs are .com, .edu, .gov, .net, and .org.

However, these gTLD domain names must be renewed before their expiration date. If all auto-renewal attempts fail and you do not manually renew your domain name, it will transition to the Redemption Period.

During the Redemption Period, the system will reject any domain renewal applications. You will then receive a notification with the redemption form attached. You can download and fill out the form, then send it back to us. By then, we will process your domain name's redemption and renewal.

IMPORTANT: Redemption is costly, so you must renew the domain before expiry. You can turn on the auto-renewal option to avoid losing your domain name.

Every Domain Name should be renewed before its expiration date. If all the auto-renewal attempts fail and you do not manually renew your Domain Name by the expiration date, you must restore it.

If the Domain expires - don’t fret - because you can still restore it during the given Renewal Grace Period which will last for 30-45 days. After this, if you still haven’t renewed your Domain Name, a Redemption Period will be granted which will last for another 30 days.

Restore your Domain Name by following the steps below:

  1. Click Sign Up / Log In at the top of this page.
  2. Select Account Manager from the drop-down menu.
  3. Enter your username and password, then click Log In.
  4. Click on the Visit My Account button.
  5. Click Domains on the menu bar at the top of the page.
  6. Tick the box beside the Domain Name/s you wish to renew.
  7. Click the Renew button on the upper right-hand of the Domains List.

You will be directed to the page where you can Pay Securely for the Domain you have just renewed.

Congratulations! You have just successfully Restored your Domain Name.
