What Is the Waiting Period Between Domain Transfers

Domain Transfer refers to the process of changing the designated Registrar of a domain name. Once a transfer has been made, the new Registrar will be responsible for keeping and managing your Domain Name System (DNS) records.

As mandated by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), a 60-day waiting period is required before a Domain Transfer can be performed.

This waiting period applies to Domain Transfers after registration/purchase from its original Registrar, or between several transfers. This means that you cannot transfer any domain to another provider before 60 days have passed.

This is an ICANN Transfer Policy that is strictly implemented to all accredited Registrars.
