How to Update the DNS for Website Builder

You have full control of the DNS records for your Website Builder. You simply need to access the Hosting Manager cPanel for your product to create, edit, and delete your DNS records.

Updating DNS records

The Website Builder’s DNS functions can be easily updated for the following records: A record, CNAME record, SRV record, TXT record, and AAAA record. The instructions below will show you how:

  1. Click Sign Up / Log In at the top of this page.
  2. Ensure that Account Manager is selected.
  3. Enter your username and password, then click Log In.
  4. Click on the Visit My Account button.
  5. Click on Website Builder in the menu bar at the top of the page.
  6. Select the Website Builder plan you wish to manage. If you only have one Website Builder plan, you will automatically be routed to the management page.
  7. Click on the [v] arrow-down symbol beside the Build Now button and select Control Panel from the drop-down menu.
  8. Enter the username and password of your Control Panel if asked.
  9. You will be routed to your hosting manager Control Panel.
  10. On the home page, click on Domains or the [v] arrow-down symbol beside it.
  11. Click on Advanced Zone Editor.
  12. Under Type, select the type of DNS record you wish to add from the drop-down menu.
  13. Enter the DNS values required then click Add Record.
  14. Your new DNS record will show under the Zone File Records list below.
    Under the ACTION column, click on the pencil icon to edit an existing DNS record or click on the trash icon to delete it.

Congratulations! You have now updated your DNS for Website Builder.

Updating the MX Record

The MX record, or Mail eXchange record, is a type of DNS that deals with how email should be delivered to the right address. You can update your MX record by accessing the cPanel for your Website Builder. The instructions below will show you how:

  1. Click Sign Up / Log In at the top of this page.
  2. Ensure that Account Manager is selected.
  3. Enter your username and password, then click Log In.
  4. Click on the Visit My Account button.
  5. Click on Website Builder in the menu bar at the top of the page.
  6. Select the Website Builder plan you wish to manage. If you only have one Website Builder plan, you will automatically be routed to the management page.
  7. Click on the [v] arrow-down symbol beside the Build Now button and select Control Panel from the drop-down menu.
  8. Enter the username and password of your Control Panel if asked.
  9. You will be routed to your hosting manager Control Panel.
  10. On the home page, click on Email or the [v] arrow-down symbol beside it.
  11. Click on MX Entry.
  12. Scroll down to the Add New Record section and enter the DNS values required under Priority and Destination, then click Add New Record.
  13. Your new MX record will show under the MX Records list below.
    Under the ACTIONS column, click on the pencil icon to edit an existing MX record or click on the trash icon to delete it.
