How to Update DNS for Website Builder

You have full control over the DNS records for Website Builder. You simply need to access the Hosting Manager or cPanel to create, edit, or delete your DNS records.

Updating DNS records

The Website Builder's DNS functions can be easily updated for the following records: A record, CNAME record, SRV record, TXT record, and AAAA record. The instructions below will show you how:

  1. Access your Website Builder Hosting Manager.
  2. On the Home page, click Domains or the [v] Icon beside it.
  3. Click the Advanced Zone Editor icon.
  4. Under Type, select the type of DNS record you wish to add from the drop-down menu.
  5. Enter the DNS values required then click Add Record.
  6. Your new DNS record will show in the Zone File Records section below.
    Under the ACTION column, click on the Pencil Icon to edit an existing DNS record or click on the Trash Icon to delete it.

Congratulations! You've now updated your DNS for Website Builder.

Updating the MX Record

The MX record, or Mail eXchange record, is a type of DNS that deals with how email should be delivered to the right address. If you want to connect your Website Builder website to an existing Email Account, simply update your MX records with the instructions below:

  1. Access your Website Builder Hosting Manager.
  2. On the Home page, click Email or the [v] Icon beside it.
  3. Click the MX Entry Icon.
  4. Scroll down to the Add New Record section and enter the DNS values required under Priority and Destination, then click Add New Record.
  5. Your new MX record will show in the MX Records section below.
    Under the ACTIONS column, click on the Pencil Icon to edit an existing MX record or click on the Trash Icon to delete it.
