But if your web hosting is with a 3rd-party hosting provider like GoDaddy, and you're only using our SSL service. Then, the renewal process will be manual. Since our system won’t be able to access your hosting provider’s server information. Continue reading this article to learn how.
Important: For users with 2 year SSL service plan, normally renewal will be after the second year from the time of purchase or renewal.
However, due to an industry-wide requirement issued by Apple and Google, declaring that any two-year TLS Certificate issued after August 30, 2020, will be distrusted in their browsers.
Thus, we recommend renewing your SSL Certificates a year after from the time of purchase or renewal.
How to Renew SSL Certificate Manually With a 3rd-Party Hosting Provider
Follow the steps below to manually renew your SSL Certificate:
- Contact your third-party hosting provider, and ask for the following information:
- CSR (Certificate Signing Request) file
- Active admin email, for example, your administrator@domain or webmaster@domain.
You can also use your registrant email if your admin email is unavailable.
