How to fix Wordpress white screen of death?

WordPress is currently one of the fastest growing content management system (CMS) software online. However, because of third party plugins, scripts, and themes, it can sometimes have issues. These issues can break the PHP process causing a blank white page error to appear, instead of your actual website content.

The causes of these issues may vary; however, these two fixes typically does the trick and resolves the issue:

It is recommended that both the Plugins and the Theme be reset for you to successfully resolve a WSOD error.

Disabling Your WordPress Plugins

You can disable your WordPress plugins by accessing your WordPress dashboard. The instructions below will show you how:

  1. Click Sign Up / Log In at the top of this page.
  2. Ensure that Account Manager is selected from the drop-down menu.
  3. Enter your username and password, then click Log In.
  4. Click on the Visit My Account button.
  5. Click on Web Hosting from the menu at the top of the page.
  6. Click on the WordPress hosting plan you wish to manage.
  7. Click WP Panel and select the WordPress website you would like to manage.
  8. You will automatically be routed to your WordPress dashboard.
  9. Click Plugins from the left menu.
  10. Click on the Deactivate option below all active plugins, then check your website if it is working.

    • If it is working, you will have confirmed that the cause of the issue is one of your plugins.
    • If your WordPress site does not go back online, skip the next steps and proceed with changing the theme too.
  11. If the website is now working, go back to your Plugins and re-Activate them one at a time. Check your website every time a plugin has been enabled to see if it is down again.
If after enabling one plugin your website goes down, check with the developer of that plugin for assistance.
