How to Change the Main Domain Name for WordPress Site

Choosing the right domain name for your website is crucial as it will serve as your main identification on the web. You need to make sure that you choose one that is short, concise, and easy-to-remember. It is also ideal that you use words that can describe the type of business you have or the products and services you offer.

After adding a secondary domain name, you can easily change your main domain name through your Account Manager. Continue reading this guide to learn how, follow the steps below:

Step 1. Log in to your Account Manager.
Step 2. Click on the Web Hosting option at the top-menu. Then, click on the domain name you wish to manage and that is registered to our WordPress Hosting.
Step 3. On the WordPress Hosting page, scroll down to the Domain Name section and click the [ v ] arrow located on the right side of the section.

Step 4. Under the Domains tab, click on the Hamburger icon corresponding to the secondary domain you want to use.

Step 5. Click the Set domain to Primary button.

Your website should begin to show the new domain name. If you’re still seeing the old main domain name after following the steps above, please contact our technical support team for assistance.
