How to Start and Reboot the Hyper-V server

You can shut down, reboot, or start the Hyper-V virtual machine by following these steps:

Step 1. Log in to your Microsoft Service Management Portal using the username and password which were sent to your email address.

Step 2. The Service Management Portal page will open. Select Virtual Machines from the left-side menu.

Step 3. Click on the virtual machine you want to connect to.

Step 4. From the options at the bottom of your screen, you can operate the Virtual Machines using the description below.

Below is description of the fields:
Action

Description

Start

Starts a virtual machine that is stopped, paused, or in a saved state.

Pause

Suspends execution of a virtual machine and keeps all virtual machine state in memory.

Restart

Restarts a virtual machine that is running, paused, or in a saved state.

Shut down

Shuts down the guest operating system on the virtual machine. This action is available only when Virtual Machine Additions is installed on the virtual machine.

Stop

Discards the state that was saved for a virtual machine and turns off the virtual machine.
